Who is allowed to enter?

Anyone other than employees of DSM and ultrabold and their families. Every entry must be sent as a digital picture file using the online form on closer-to-life.com. It is unfortunately not possible for photos sent by post or e-mail to be considered.

What can be submitted?

Every entrant is allowed to submit up to five photos per competition. Please note that we can only accept private photos which you have taken yourself.
Entry is only possible via the online form, which must be completed in full. Before uploading files, entrants must confirm that they have read and accept the conditions of entry.

Labeling of photos

When completing the online form, entrants provide the following information: user name, e-mail address and title of the photo to be uploaded.
The information is entered in the corresponding fields on the form. Entrants confirm their agreement to this information being used and stored.

Final date for entries

Please see the relevant competition for the final date for entries. Photos submitted late cannot be considered.

Approval of photos

The editorial team checks all files submitted and reserves the right to disqualify photos if necessary. Entries in breach of current law will be excluded from the competition.

Who wins?

The photos can be rated on closer-to-life.com for a specified period (the information is published for the competition in question). Every visitor can join in the public voting. The pictures with the highest score on the site are submitted to a jury made up of three specialists. The jury chooses the final winner. The assessment criteria are: technical difficulty, composition and staging, impact and originality.

Copyright

The entrant confirms that he or she holds all rights in respect of the photo submitted, that he or she has unlimited exploitation rights in respect of all parts, that the photo is free from any third party rights and that no personal rights are infringed in the event of persons being represented. If one or more people in the photo are identifiable, the persons in question must agree to the photo or video being published. The entrant shall obtain written consent if so requested. If, nevertheless, third parties make claims on the grounds that their rights have been infringed, the entrant shall hold the organizer harmless against all claims. Photos edited on a computer must not contain any parts from magazines, books, films, DVDs or CDs.

Liability

closer-to-life.com accepts no liability for loss of or any damage to the photos submitted.

Granting of rights

Without limitation in terms of location, time or content, every entrant grants the organizer non-exclusive rights, including editing rights, in respect of the photos submitted for the competition, and reporting rights (irrespective of in which medium, i.e. including in print or on DVD).

Data protection

The information submitted by entrants is passed on to interested third parties, e.g. magazine editors, when the photos are published as part of the competition. The entrant expressly agrees to this.

Legal remedies

Legal action is prohibited.

What happens to the photos?

The files submitted remain on closer-to-life.com after the competition ends, until the competition is removed.
