Contest winner: Steffen Philipp
®claryl: How did you achieve this image?
S.P.: I had to do a lot of experimenting before I obtained this effect.
The final combination was a manual exposure with:
Tv (shutter speed): 1/6400
Av (aperture setting): 5.6
Film speed (ISO): 200
®claryl: How did you find out about the closer to life competition?
S.P.: Through a tip from a good friend, who told me about her glass and the competition. I eventually decided to take part as the competition itself inspired me.
®claryl: What particularly motivated you to send in your picture?
S.P.: The appeal of competing with others, and thereby improving and developing.
®claryl: Why did you choose the "lemon" image which you sent in to reflect the theme of "beer garden"?
S.P.: I thought it was simply something more unusual than the images that are found elsewhere. The whole thing represents a certain contrast. On the one hand it shows something refreshing, which is needed in the summer, and on the other hand the similarity with the sun in the sky is interesting for me, as that is what makes the refreshing drink necessary in the first place.
®claryl: Which picture will you have framed?
S.P.: I love cross country driving and the subject in general. I've therefore decided on the Seikel car, the VW T3 Syncro 16" Doka.
®claryl: Thank you very much, Mr Philipp.
